Manu

Emmanuel Schütz

Project Co-Director, Thriving Together with Tamaraw and Program Director | DAF

Manu has a university background in wildlife ecology and over 20 years of experience in projects that connect biodiversity conservation with applied, on-site research. As Program Director of DAF and Project Co-Director of Thriving Together with Tamaraw, he develops holistic strategies for implementing conservation initiatives, fostering multi-disciplinary collaborations, and engaging local stakeholders through a bio-cultural landscape approach.

Manu acts as a Project Co-Director to help ensure it stays true to its vision and objectives while building long-term impact, interfacing with both local and international partners. Manu’s dedication stems from initiating this long-term program in the early 2010s and nurturing its growth over time with partners who share the same vision. His favorite moments in the field come in the late afternoon, when cool temperatures and a setting sun offer a space to reflect on the day’s work with colleagues over a meal, coffee, or a drink. These moments capture the balance of purpose, collaboration, and appreciation that drive his conservation efforts.
