This project is funded by the UK government through the Darwin Initiative, one of the competitive grant funds under the Biodiversity Challenge Funds. The grant supports efforts to protect the tamaraw and preserve indigenous cultures and ecosystems. The initiative enables work across the species’ full range, combining indigenous governance, local co-management, and science-based conservation. It also strengthens local capacities and promotes policy collaboration across Mindoro to ensure the long-term survival of both the tamaraw and the island’s unique biodiversity.
