Calum Ryan

SMART Capacity Support (Consultant) | Re:wild

Calum serves as SMART Capacity Support Consultant under the SMART Partnership at Re:wild, where he focuses on strengthening organizational capacity through standardized training approaches, national adoption strategies, and improved protected and conserved area (PCA) management effectiveness using the SMART Approach. He also supports the delivery and development of SMART training across partner sites.

He holds a BSc in Animal Biology and Conservation from Oxford Brookes University. Early in his career, he worked with the European Union’s Court of Auditors before joining Fauna & Flora, where he reviewed their SMART user base and helped lead the development of their SMART implementation approach. He later lectured and facilitated field fieldwork with Operation Wallacea in Krka National Park, Croatia.

Based near Bristol in the United Kingdom, Calum brings a collaborative and practical perspective to conservation capacity building and looks forward to supporting the global SMART community through shared learning and strengthened partnerships.
