Mapet

Maria Perpetua Bulawan

Deputy Program Operations Manager | DAF

A sociologist from Mindoro, Mapet currently serves as Deputy Program Operations Manager, providing strategic and operational support to the project. In her role, she supports the Co-Directors in leading project activities while overseeing safeguarding, health and safety, stakeholder engagement, staff supervision, reporting, and core management coordination.

She values this work because it protects the tamaraw, a species found only in Mindoro, while safeguarding the forests, rivers, and mountains that shape local culture, identity, and livelihoods. For Mapet, conservation is closely tied to community pride, Indigenous heritage, and sustainable development.

Her favorite landscapes are grasslands, forests, and coastal areas, each offering a different sense of connection and meaning. She carries a simple guiding principle in both life and work: To God be the glory!
