Ruel supports project implementation through community organizing, proposal development, and the monitoring of community-based livelihood programs. As Grant Scheme Manager, he focuses on designing, administering, and tracking grant mechanisms that support Indigenous livelihoods and conservation initiatives across the tamaraw landscape.
In his role, Ruel works closely with partners and communities to turn approved ideas into funded, on-the-ground activities, coordinating stakeholders, reviewing and monitoring projects, and ensuring that grants contribute meaningfully to conservation and sustainable land use. He believes conservation works best when communities are actively involved, and finds motivation in seeing this collaboration take shape, especially during field days that end at sunset. Guided by curiosity and purpose, he lives by a simple reminder to keep learning and keep growing.
