Pau

Pauline Angela S. Maglipon

Interim Research Coordinator | DAF

An aspiring ecologist, Pau is a product of a strong NGO–academe collaboration. Mentorship from her current organization supported the completion of her master’s research, which explored the emerging field of fire ecology and examined landscape changes through time using statistical analyses and geospatial mapping.

As Interim Research Coordinator, she supports the coordination and implementation of research activities, including co-leading fieldwork, preparing activity designs and reports, managing logistics, and liaising with partners. While grounded in landscape ecology, biodiversity conservation, GIS, and storytelling, Pau is now actively seeking greater exposure to the social dimensions of conservation to further strengthen her on-the-ground impact.

She believes her life’s purpose is to serve and be part of something bigger than herself—wildlife conservation. Her favorite nature moments come after a steep mountain climb, when everyone pauses to catch their breath, sitting quietly on the ground or a rock while taking in the view. She carries with her a guiding reminder: the unknown does not intimidate her, because she, too, is the unknown to whatever she is heading toward.
